Frequently asked questions
Key Questions About NXT’s Platform Support, Security, and Ongoing Digital Management.
These questions cover requirements organisations may ask about keeping a digital platform secure, performant, and evolving after go-live — from what an NXT support retainer includes, to how we handle security, hosting infrastructure, and technical SEO/GEO on an ongoing basis. If you're considering moving your platform's support to NXT or just want to understand what proactive digital management looks like, start here.
NXT provides structured monthly support retainers delivered through formal Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Cover includes: proactive CMS version management and security patching, uptime monitoring and error logging, technical SEO monitoring and Search Console error management, Azure cloud infrastructure management, feature release planning, strategic digital roadmap consultation, feature releases and direct access to NXT's technical team for wider IT and integration questions. Currently, NXT has 183 websites, applications, and tools under active management.
Standard web hosting provides server space. NXT's managed hosting service includes active management of security, performance, backups, scaling, and compliance on top of the infrastructure itself. All NXT hosting providers are required to meet ISO 27001 certification and Cyber Essentials requirements (NXT are Cyber Essentials accredited* March 2026), with sustainability accreditations including 100% renewable power and carbon offsetting as standard. Infrastructure options include Azure, AWS, virtualised servers, and customised geo-located content delivery setups.
Yes. NXT regularly onboards platforms originally built by other agencies. The process begins with a technical audit of the existing codebase, hosting environment, and integrations, giving a clear picture of the platform's current state and any risks (NXT Familiarisation). NXT then establishes monitoring, takes over hosting management where required, and brings the platform into a proactive support structure before agreeing a forward roadmap with the client.
NXT's security approach covers: hardened server and hosting configuration, multi-factor authentication (MFA) for CMS access, DDoS protection, SSL certificate management, Azure Key Vault and Azure Security Centre integration, Okta and Azure AD access management, Acronis backup and recovery, and regular security and performance audits. NXT holds Cyber Essentials certification and adheres to OWASP security standards in all development work and adheres to security by design methodologies.
Yes. NXT's support retainers include out-of-hours and unsociable-hours maintenance windows to ensure reduced business disruption for updates, patches, and emergency incidents. Response times for different severity levels are contractually defined in each client's SLA.
NXT are accredited Azure practitioners and a Microsoft Azure Partner. The primary hosting platform for most enterprise and mid-market clients is Microsoft Azure, providing enterprise-grade security, global CDN, auto-scaling, DDoS protection, and disaster recovery. NXT also supports AWS infrastructure and can configure customised geo-located hosting for clients with regional content delivery requirements. We also work with customer specific environments across Rackspace, Google Cloud, AWS and other smaller infrastructure providers.
Technical SEO is included in NXT's support retainer. This covers: Search Console error monitoring and validation, redirect management, page speed testing and image optimisation, structured data review, and indexing health checks as the site evolves. NXT treats technical SEO as an ongoing responsibility rather than a one-time launch task, ensuring the platform's search performance is maintained as content grows and the codebase is updated.
