Digital spotlight on AI and ML in web development

The integration of AI (artificial intelligence) and ML (machine learning) technologies in web development, content creation, customer service, and user experience is not just a growing trend but now becoming commonplace.

This includes the use of chatbots, personalised recommendations, and automated content creation tools. Over the last 18 months, there has been a growing demand to employ this technology and seamlessly incorporate it into our clients' business frameworks. In this blog post, NXT will explore the available options and highlight some use cases from our experiences as a digital agency. AI presents numerous application scenarios, and we've selected a subset of readily accessible options that can significantly enhance operational efficiency on a large scale.

CHAT BOTS

One of the most noticeable applications of AI in recent times is the widespread use of chatbots. These virtual assistants have helped support customer interaction by providing instant responses, automating routine queries, and enhancing overall user experience on website. We have been involved in several Chatbot customisation development builds and user journey planning building models that support specific customer and content interaction. Chatbots have helped

PERSONALISATION OF CONTENT

The integration of AI and ML extends beyond customer interactions to shape user experiences on a personalised level. Recommendation engines powered by machine learning algorithms, can analyse user behaviour, preferences, and historical data to offer tailored suggestions. From content recommendations on CMS platforms to product suggestions on e-commerce websites, these systems significantly contribute to enhancing user engagement. We’ve created a ML engine on a clients website that we helped build a matrix of content to support users in engaging with relevance and supporting the customers marketing funnel development boosting site conversion.

CONTENT CREATION

No, this blog wasn’t written by AI but it could have been! The realm of content creation has changed with the advent of AI-powered tools. Automated content creation is emerging as a game-changer, allowing businesses to generate high-quality, relevant content at scale. From blog posts and social media updates to product descriptions and thought leadership. AI-driven content creation we predict, will be a mainstay in the future of CMS systems (subtle hint, we’re doing this already within Umbraco CMS).

APPLICATION LEVEL

We have several client applications that are using AI in various guises. We have an application that uses Machine Learning to match and link content together based on similar content relationships. NXT have utilised the Azure Cognitive services tools to enable this development and has allowed the client to scale application availability globally through automated AI translations.

INFRASTRUCTURE LEVEL

The evolving threat landscape to digital infrastructure is an obvious area for exploit of systems but also defence too. AI is now helping form advanced cybersecurity measures. AI is increasingly being employed for threat detection, anomaly analysis, and real-time response, fortifying digital ecosystems against cyber threats. This will soon be a necessity in protection of all application cloud environments.

CREATIVE AI

The ability of AI to generate visual content, including images, videos, and graphics, is becoming more sophisticated. This opens up new avenues for creative expression and visual storytelling in the digital space. Our cover picture for this blog was created using AI with the Bing Image creator tool

In conclusion, the integration of AI and ML technologies has transcended from being a trend to a fundamental aspect of modern web development. NXT remains committed to exploring and implementing these cutting-edge technologies, ensuring that our clients stay at the forefront of digital innovation. As the digital landscape continues to evolve, embracing the possibilities offered by AI and ML is not just a strategic choice but a necessity for businesses aiming to thrive in the digital era.
